Since Bet-at-Home is considered one of the leading betting companies in Europe, we decided to register and try out their betting selection to see whether they live up to the fame. After some time spent on their website, we decided to make our own Bet-at-Home review and give you all the necessary info you may need. In here, you’ll find everything you need to know about their sportsbook, promotions, betting types and customer support. The website boasts a wide variety of sports to bet on. Paired with some nice betting promotions it makes for a great experience. In addition, the up-to-date security and helpful customer support can make every punter feel right at home, no pun intended.

Pros / Cons

Huge sportsbook

Long-standing reputation

Air-tight security

Numerous fairness certificates

No welcome offer

History

Before we start exploring their sportsbook, we should begin our Bet-at-Home reviewwith a little bit of history. Bet-at-Home started in 1999 as a joint venture between Jochen Dickinger and Franz Ömer in Wels, Austria. Over the course of the next five years, Bet-at-Home transformed into a corporation and listed itself on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. From then, the company has been spreading and garnering considerable business success.

Nowadays, it’s one of the largest betting websites in Europe, with more than 5 million active users. To the football fans among the readers of our Bet-at-Home review, they are probably best known as sponsors of FC Schalke and FC St. Pauli.

At the core of Bet-at-Home’s service is their sportsbook. It has been operational since the early days of the company, in 2000. For the end of the 2017 fiscal year, Bet-at-Home revealed that it had catered to more than 379,000 different betting events for more than 75 sports, further attesting to the site’s popularity.

Account Creation

At this point of our Bet at Home review, it’s time to give you a quick walkthrough of the registration process. In the top right corner of the page, you can see the green Register Now button. When you click on it, you will find yourself on their registration page. Once there, you’ll have to fill out two forms.

  1. Personal data – such as name, address, country, email and phone number.
  2. Login data – username, password, security question and answer. In the end, just tick the box showing you’re over 18 and consent to their Terms and Conditions.

Unlike other betting sites, Bet at Home doesn’t have a promo code option, but more on that later, in the bonus section. When you’re finished with the forms, click on the Register Now button. From there, the website will send you a verification link via email. Once you click on it and verify your account, Bet-at-Home will send you another email with your personal betting account number. Note that Bet-at-Home lets you link your Google+ and PayPal accounts if you have them. Right from the account registration, you can already see that security is handled seriously at Bet-at-home.

Bet-at-Home Bonus Options

When it comes to promotions, Bet-at-Home is probably one of the poorest betting websites we have yet encountered. There are four promotions in total, and three of them are based on a competition among your fellow punters. We’re not claiming that the existing four are not useful. Far from it, only that the experience could be improved by introducing new and exciting promotions.

Some of the best betting sites out there that have seven or more promotions, sometimes all equally enticing. The worst is, Bet at Home even lacks a sign up offer. There’s nothing to attract new customers, while even the worst betting sites have some kind of gift for new members.

Bet-at-Home Cashback Bonus

The only proper bonus we came across was their cash-back promotion. The promotion is valid for any Premier League game. All you need to do is select the Cashback Bets option and place your bets. If the end result is 0:0, Bet-at-Home will give your stake back, at up to €50, in the form of a cashback voucher.

However, the conditions don’t end there, and if you plan on claiming it, you’ll be happy you came across our Bet at Home review. When you read through the terms and conditions, you’ll see that before withdrawing, cashback voucher funds have to be rolled over three times with a minimum odds of 1.5 per bet. Additionally, you can’t use them for live betting.

Bet-at-Home Competitions

What it lacks in promotions, Bet-at-Home makes up for in the various competitions you can take part in. First, there’s the Winner of the Day competition, where you can get €50 by random selection.

Next, there’s the Betmastercup competition, which is pretty much the same but recurs every month. Again Betathome offers vouchers as a prize, so it isn’t that enticing. First place wins €500, while the runners-up receive €300 and €200, respectively.

In the end, there’s the Bet-Cup, which enables you to win a Porsche 911 if you place at least one bet a day for a whole year. Although you might think you’ll definitely receive one based on the wording in the ad, the reality is, if there are multiple candidates by the end of the competition, the real winner is actually decided by a lucky draw. If you take into account that the minimum stake is €0.50, then this is one expensive competition requirement.

Bet at Home Minimum Deposit

The minimum amount you can cash in is €10. As for the available payment methods, they are as follows: credit (not available for the UK players)/debit card, EntroPay, Skrill, Skrill 1-Tap, Paysafecard, bank transfer, Neteller, Voucher, iDeal by Skrill and Trustly.

Depositing is easy and intuitive. All you need to do is click on the Deposit button. From there, you can choose the amount and your preferred payment method. Once you’re done, just complete the transaction by visiting your e-wallet. If you are using Skrill as we did, your deposits should be instant.

Bet-at-Home Sportsbook

Although Bet at Home lacks a welcome offer, you will feel more than welcome when you take a look at the available sports roster. Any punter can find something in their abundant sportsbook. Currently, Bet-at-Home has thousands of betting events spread across 36 sports categories.

Apart from the ubiquitous ones like football, basketball, tennis, rugby and the NFL, the website also features an extensive list of sports you won’t find anywhere else. There’s biathlon, chess, cross-country skiing, ski jumping and various political events, as well as an esports section. In fact, the Bet-at-home esports offerings are the best we have currently encountered while reviewing betting sites. Currently, there are sixteen different categories in the esports section: Dota 2, StarCraft, Counter-Strike, FIFA, Halo, LoL, Overwatch, Fortnite, Heroes of the Storm and Rocket League, among others.

Betting itself is quite easy and intuitive at Bet-at-Home. Find your favourite sport and click on the desired category. All the matches and events will be displayed in a grid in the centre of the page. From there, just click on any odds, and your bet will appear in the bet slip on the right side of the page. In it, you can adjust the stakes and place your bet.

Unlike other websites, Bet at home doesn’t feature a free bet system. The only thing resembling this is a bonus – cash back, because it’s redeemed with vouchers. However, they work pretty much the same as free bets on any other betting site. You can access them by clicking on the Voucher Funds page. From there, you can place them on an event of your choosing.

Bet-at-Home Interface

At the top of the page, you’ll find your account info with the links to their other pages: Casino, Poker, Vegas, etc. The centre of the page contains current events. On the left side, you will find links to the sports categories. On the right side, you’ll find the bet slips. The bottom of the page contains all the Bet at Home affiliates and links to the terms and conditions, privacy policy and legal documents, along with the licensing information. If you experience a problem, you’ll find the customer support link on the left side of every page.

Visually, Bet-at-Home’s website is outdated and old. However it works pretty well, and we haven’t encountered any problems with graphics or loading speed. We have to note that the quality of the website drastically shifts once you enter the esports and live betting sections. In there, everything looks exponentially better, with higher a resolution and more detailed windows.bet at home live betting

Bet at Home Mobile

Betting doesn’t have to stop once you leave home since Bet-at-Home features mobile apps both for Android and iOS devices. You can visit their apps page, where you’ll find links for the dedicated app stores. The app features pretty much the same roster of sports. You can use the live betting option, as well as make deposits or redeem vouchers.

What’s more interesting is that the app looks way better, especially in terms of the visual presentation of the most necessary information. The most important thing is that the Bet at Home app runs perfectly without any hiccups.

Bet-at-Home Withdrawals

The withdrawal process is pretty much the same as depositing. On the My Account page, find the Withdrawal button. From there, choose the amount you want to withdraw and click on the Request Withdrawal button. If you use Skrill, as we did, you’ll have to withdraw using the same method when depositing. The minimum withdrawal amount is €10, and you’ll have to wait 18 hours for it.

Bet-at-Home Customer Support

Apart from having a live chat service, Bet-at-Home offers other means of contact. Upon visiting their Help page, you can see the emails and phone numbers for each section: Bet-at-Home Casino, Sports Betting, Poker, etc.

We tried to reach them via live chat, and they took a while to answer. However, in the end, they cleared up all our concerns. If you feel your problem is much more urgent, you can use the phone number (+356-20102511) or the email address ([email protected]). The help page also offers a comprehensive, well-designed FAQ search page that can help you resolve your problem on your own.

Bet-at-Home Security

Security is one of Bet-at-Home’s stronger points. Every piece of data that you enter at Bet at Home, from your login to your banking information, is secured by the latest encryption technology. The website cooperates with a number of agencies dedicated to ensuring a healthy gaming atmosphere,  Some of them are DSWV, DOCV, EASG, eCOGRA, and EGBA.

The website also features a rather incomplete responsible gaming program when compared to other betting sites. If you experience a problem, you can only set a limit and block yourself from further access to the website. Alternatively, you can use the self-assessment tools the website provides in cooperation with the aforementioned partners.

As for the licensing, Bet at Home holds a UK Gambling Commission Remote Betting Licence, reference number 39091. The website is also licenced by the Malta Gaming Authority under the number C35109.

Conclusion

Our final opinion is highly divided. On the one hand, the website features a staggering number of different events that can cater to the needs of nearly any punter. The security is flawless, while the customer support serves its purpose well.

On the other hand, the lack of viable promotions, as well as the lack of a proper welcome offer, is a serious issue. Nevertheless, the quality of the sportsbook is enough to end this Bet-at-Home review on a positive note.
